Weight Loss
If you are looking to lose some weight for the new year, chances are you've considered a myriad of options. Many try fad diets and or take pills and get immediate results but then have a hard time maintaining long lasting weight loss. If you are looking for a plan to lose pounds and keep them off permanently, here are a few suggestions for your new year's resolutions.
First, talk to your doctor about any weight loss plan you may be considering.
Millions of Americans are grappling with weight management problems. According to statistics, the prevalence of obesity in the adult population has reached 30 percent, and children are not too far behind. Obesity needs to treated seriously as it has been highly correlated with health problems such as diabetes and heart disease.
One approach that has caught the attention of the public is the use of hypnosis in weight loss programs.
Almost everyone wants to look better than they currently do. It's just a part of being human. Not to mention the fact that we live in America, the land of fast food, pizza, ice cream and celebrities. Even one of our national holidays, Thanksgiving, revolves solely around stuffing ourselves silly. Everywhere you look, celebrities are flaunting their perfect faces, skin, and bodies. The layman (or laywoman) has little chance of competing and keeping up with what society tries to tell us we should look like.
Why do you think you should go to a boot camp training? I would think that perhaps, you do not have enough patience and diligence in concentrating and enjoying in a gym. Or perhaps, the result in going there is not as fruitful as when done in a boot camp. In many cases, the boot camps are similar to gyms. They are both great ways of exercising consistently.
Boot camps are often preferred because these provide better ways to work-out. You gain high level of energy whenever you try to shed off some pounds.
When someone decides to lose weight they think they should go on a "diet", but with hundreds to choose how do you decide? I would not bother trying because the only factor that all good diet plans share is the need for moderate energy deficit. This means to lose weight you have to eat fewer calories than you expend. Without energy deficit you will not lose weight so all your efforts should go to achieving moderate energy deficit. Working as a Glasgow personal trainer one of the biggest challenges I face is getting clients to improve their eating habits.
Trying to convince women that lifting weights is one of the fastest and more effective ways of training to get the body they want can be quite challenging for me as a Glasgow personal trainer. It can take quite a bit of reassuring that they won't end up looking like a female body builder just by picking up a weight. Explaining how an increase in lean body mass will help reduce both excess body fat and inches always seems to help.
Women often want improvement in their legs and waist, and unbalanced reverse lunge does both.
The vast majority of people who train do so to lose weight, and diet is easily the most important part of the process. When giving nutritional advice as a Glasgow personal trainer the thing I hear all the time is "Oh but I could not live without bread, wine, cheese, chocolate, crisps, biscuits etc". This is the first sign of food addiction and is seen before you even try to give up the problem food. Regularly using particular food to cheer you up or calm you down also indicates possible addiction.
In previous articles I have discussed how the best training plan for effective fat loss to do resistance circuits based around non competing movement patterns. Weight loss is the number one request for Glasgow personal trainers so it is wise to keep up to date with the best training methods for it and resistance circuits are definitely the current gold standard.
If you want results you have to make good choices or you're wasting your time. Working as a Glasgow personal trainer the majority of people I have seen who design their own training plan make bad exercise selection choices. People who don't know how to design a quality training program tend to pick things they see others doing. This leads to a perpetuation of the following 5 exercises being done in gyms the length and breadth of Scotland. If you spend a lot of time on these exercises you are on the wrong track and heading for trouble.
Diet is the most important aspect of your weight loss plan. It is not enough to achieve calorie deficit (more energy expended than consumed). You have to be aware of how different foods affect your body and this is one of the areas I spend a lot of time as a personal trainer in Glasgow. A lot is made of the fact that carbohydrates only contain 4 calories per gram, as does protein, but fats contain 9 calories per gram. As a result fat is often singled out as the main villain you fight when you diet but fat loss is not as simple as calories in to calories out.
